Game Highlights

 

Brighton 4 Canandaigua 2 (1-0, 0-0)

 

Phil Silverman pitched 5 2/3 innings to earn the first win of the year for the Barons. Christian Kaduc came in relief to shut down the Braves to pick up the save. Jake Nally lead the Barons offense with two hits and three stolen bases. Andy Seil lead the game and the season off with a rocket base hit. The Barons defense was incredible on the day. No errors were recorded and great plays were made by Shaun Cyrkin and Teddy Ruff. Zach Pfau lead the team with 7 put outs and 3 assists.

 

Sutherland 9 Brighton 3 (1-1, 0-1)

 

The Barons did not have many highlights. Phil Silverman made an unbelievable diving catch in the outfield, Michael Arcuri made a great diving catch at 1st base. Jake Nally went 2 for 3 at the plate. The Barons are off to West Virginia!

 

Brighton 5 Sissonville (WV) 3 (2-1, 0-1)

 

Phil Silverman pitched a complete game while striking out 14 Indians to earn the win. Chris Nolan lead the offense going 2 for 4 with 3 RBI's. Christian Kaduc also had two hits and an RBI. Down 3-2 in the top of the 7th. Andrew Graff lead the inning off with a bunt single. A two base error moved Graff to third base and he would later score on a passed ball. Chris Nolan gave the Barons the lead with an RBI single scoring Andy Seil. The Barons will play St. Albans (WV) on Monday.

 

St. Albans (WV) 13 Brighton 6 (2-2, 0-1)

 

Chris Nolan was 2 for 3 with a double to lead the Barons offense. The Barons play Scott High School in West Virginia Tuesday.

 

Brighton 17 Scott (WV) 9 (3-2, 0-1)

 

The bats came to life in the Barons shlacking of Scott High School. Teddy Ruff had 4 hits and 4 RBI's, Phil Silverman had 3 hits, Andy Seil, Chris Nolan, Jake Nally, Matt Podsiadly all had two hits. Sophomore Andrew Graff recorded his first varsity win.

 

Brighton 9 Buffalo (WV) 2 (4-2, 0-1)

 

The Barons ended their trip with a win over a tough Buffalo team. Matt podsiadly lead the offense with two hits and an RBI, Andy Seil had two hits, and Chris Nolan added three hits to help propel the Barons offense. Phil Silverman pitched a complete game to earn the win.

 

Brighton 4 Eastridge 2 (5-2, 1-1)

 

Chris Nolan's two run home run in the third helped spark the offense for Brighton and put the Barons up for good. Andy Seil had a straight steal of home in the 7th to help put the game away. Phil Silverman had another strong pitching performance pitching a complete game striking out 11 and earning the victory.

 

Brighton 8 Batavia 7 (6-2, 2-1)

 

It took 8 innings but the Barons pulled off a great win over division rival Batavia. Andy Seil was 2 for 3 and scored twice, Chris Nolan had 3 doubles and 2 RBI's to help power the offense. Michael Arcuri made his 2008 debut on the hill pitching 2 innings and striking out 2 while allowing no runs. Brian Martin (Class of 07) was bringing good luck by circling over the stadium in his plane.

 

Brighton 7 Mendon 6 (7-2, 3-1)

 

Another division rival and another victory for the Barons. The Barons were down to their final strike but with Teddy Ruff on 2nd after his double and Jake Nally at the plate Jake battled and was able to rip a single to center to tie the game. Next Matt Podsiadly drove a ball to right center field for a double and the eventual game winning RBI. Matt Podsiadly ended up going 2 for 4 with 3 RBI's.

 

Odyssey 9 Brighton 5 (7-3, 3-2)

Sutherland 6 Brighton 3 (7-4, 3-3)

Olympia 7 Brighton 2 (7-5, 3-3)

Brighton 8 Eastridge 1 (8-5, 4-3)

 

The Barons finally got things rolling again. With the score 3-1 in the sixth and the bases loaded. Jake Nally came to the plate. He lined a single to left. The ball hit a weed and bounced past the left fielder. Jake was able to come all the way around and score. That put the game away for good. Michael Arcuri and Christian Kaduc combined for a no hitter!

 

Brighton 17 Arcadia 2 (9-5, 4-3)

 

The Barons bats came to life with a huge 17-2 victory against a tough Arcadia baseball team. Chris Nolan went 4-4 scoring 5 times, Jake Nally and Phil Silverman added three hits of their own in the onslaught.

 

Brighton 5 McQuaid 4 (10-5, 4-3)

 

The Barons won a hard fought game agains their cross town rivals yesterday. Brighton sent seniors Chris Nolan and then Christian Kaduc to the mound and they deliverd allowing only 2 earned runs. The Barons offense came through with some clutch hits. Richard Bradshaw had a big 2 RBI double in the 2nd inning. The Barons went down in the 6th when Andrew Graff doubled in Christian Kaduc. With the score tied in the 7th Jake Nally scored the winning run on an infield single by Phil Silverman.

 

Irondequoit 5 Brighton 2 (10-6, 4-3)

 

Andy Seil going 3 for 4 was the only highlight of the day.
