Dr. Christopher B. Manaseri, Superintendent

On behalf of the Board of Education, the faculty and staff, and the entire Brighton Central School District community, welcome to our schools!  The name Brighton has become synonymous with excellence among the public school community in and around Rochester, New York, through the efforts of many dedicated individuals working together over the years, always with the best interest of children at heart. 

Our motto of “Caring for Excellence” indicates the degree to which the school community values quality and the recognition of the effort that is required for its maintenance.  One does not take excellence for granted; one does not achieve excellence and then move on to other things.  Excellence requires continual attention, continual improvement, continual care.  In order for the second half of our motto to ring true, for the tradition to continue, it is critical that we continue to care for excellence in all regards. As the superintendent at Brighton, I feel proud and privileged to lead a team so committed to working together to care for excellence in the education of this community’s children.

I hope you will find this website a valuable tool in learning more about our schools and our efforts in providing excellent teaching and support for excellent learning in our classrooms, laboratories, and studios, as well as in our athletic venues.  Our website is designed to be a communication tool that is lively, current, and easy to use.  I invite you to explore it as one means of learning about our school district and its mission of realizing the high aspirations our community has for all of its children.

I also invite you to provide suggestions, comments and thoughts about our collective efforts through direct personal contact, attendance at Board of Education meetings, or through working with any of the many committees and advisory groups that comprise a system of feedback and responsiveness to constituent concerns.

Brighton has become all it is through the concerted work of many people.  I hope you will join us in making certain that tradition of excellence continues through your active involvement and support.
