The Application Process

Thank you for your interest in the Brighton Central School District.

Effective June 1, 2010, the Brighton Central School District will no longer be accepting paper application for teaching (including substitutes) positions. All applications and subsequent paperwork must be submitted on-line for consideration. For non-teaching positions, the District will continue to accept paper applications. (Application Non-Teaching) If you do not have access to a computer, there will be a computer available in the Human Resources Office. The Human Resources Office is located in the District Office (2035 Monroe Avenue) and the computer is available from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

To begin the application process, please go to the online application and click on 'Register Now.'  You will then be given an Applicant ID Number.  After completing your application, you will be able to apply for specific positions of interest.  Simply view the available Job Opportunities and enter your Applicant ID Number in the space provided within the postings of interest.

This Applicant ID Number is transferable among all of the districts who use this service.  Once you complete an application, simply enter your Applicant ID Number in the space provided with a job posting at any of the districts or BOCES websites (go to HR/Employment section at each district).

Alternatively, once you complete your application, you can go to the 'Job Application' page and enter your account information under 'Existing Account.'  Click on the 'My Applications' link at the left of the page and select the districts you would like to have access to your application.  This will make you a searchable candidate in that district.

The Civil Service Process

The Monroe County Civil Service Commission oversees most non-teaching (classified) positions in the Brighton Central School District. There are four types of classified positions: Exempt, Labor, Noncompetitive and Competitive. Applicants can apply for all four types of classified positions by completing the Brighton Central School District Non-Teaching Application. Competitive positions, however, require applicants to meet both minimum qualifications and pass an examination. For more information on Civil Service position qualifications and examination schedules you can write to the following address:

Monroe County Department of Human Resources
