Over the past 5 years Brighton has spent 2.6 million dollars installing a district wide network infrastructure, (I.E. fiber optic, wireless, T1, ISDN, DSL lines, routers/switches/hubs).

In addition, over 1000 ethernet networked personal computers were installed. CRPS installed Apple computers in classroom clusters of 4. FRES installed classroom Apple computer clusters of 3, in addition to two Apple computer labs.

TCMS installed two PC computer labs, one in reading language arts, and one in the technology/art curriculum. Classroom clusters of either Apple or PC systems were installed in TCMS English classrooms.

BHS installed five computer labs covering all instructional areas. FRES, TCMS, and BHS added laptop technology for teacher use, BHS & TCMS teachers also began to use electronic gradebook software. CRPS, FRES, and TCMS added library automation systems, while BHS upgraded it's Library server.

In the administrative area Brighton moved from using BOCES mainframe application services, to it's own application servers in 1999. Over 100 networked administrative PC's have been added, along with 5 administrative computing application servers covering all areas of district operation, from email, personnel, transportation, and finance, to student management.

Over 300 staff have recieved technology training since 1996. A technology support staff of 10 continues to assists users as needed. Brighton School's will soon enable all students & staff with technology!
