  • A Message from the Superintendent Regarding the School Budget Results

    55% of the community voted yes on the budget proposal while 45% voted no on the budget. The two propositions were approved by 76% and 75%, respectively. However, the district’s proposal to exceed the property tax cap required 60% of voters to vote yes. Therefore the budget was not approved and by law the propositions cannot be approved if the budget proposal to exceed the cap is not approved.

    We are so excited to bring our Brighton High School bands, orchestras, and choirs together for the first ever BHS Music Festival on May 31! This will be the spring concert for all of our groups, and we hope you’ll join us for music, dinner and dessert!

  • Host Families Needed for Foreign Language Interns

    The Foreign Language Department is looking for host families for the 2019-20 interns. The interns come to Brighton in October and stay through June, teaching TCMS and BHS language classes and sharing their culture. Families may host for the full year or half a year.

  • A Message from the Superintendent

    Brighton High School recently learned about racist videos that were directed at a BHS student by another BHS student. We investigated the situation, took swift and serious disciplinary action, worked directly with the families involved employing various restorative practices, approaches, and educational components, and cooperated fully with Brighton Police.

  • BHS Student Earns Study Trip to Germany

    Brighton High School sophomore Helen Frank was awarded an all‐expense‐paid summer study trip to Germany. She was selected as a national winner after scoring in the 95th percentile on the Level 4 2019 National German Exam for High School Students sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of German (AATG).

  • PTSA Presents Honorary Life Memberships

    Nine members of the Brighton school community were honored at the PTSA Life Membership Ceremony on May 1. Individuals receiving this recognition were honored for their outstanding service and commitment to the welfare of our children. Honorary Life Membership in the New York PTA is one of the highest honors that one can receive from the organization.

  • Mock Trial Team Wins County Championship

    Brighton High School’s Mock Trial Team won the Monroe County Championship on March 20. The team competed at the Federal Courthouse against Hilton and advanced to Regionals.

  • TCMS Seventh Graders Visit Washington, D.C.

    Twelve Corners Middle School seventh graders visited Washington, D.C. in March. Students spent three days touring our nation’s capital and had the opportunity to see some of our country’s most iconic memorials, monuments, and institutions.

  • Brighton Alumni to Honor Four New Hall of Famers on June 7

    Past and current BHS students, faculty, staff and supporters are invited to celebrate the new members of the Brighton Schools Alumni Hall of Fame (BSAA)/BHS Alumni Hall of Fame at this year’s Recognition Gala, to be held on Friday, June 7, 2019, at Oak Hill Country Club.
