Teaching
I am looking forward to starting my twelfth year teaching this September 2016, teaching Math 8 and Algebra I. Prior to teaching at TCMS, I taught Algebra I, Pre-Calculus, and AP Calculus at Brighton High School for seven years.
I graduated Summa Cum Laude from St. Lawrence University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. After graduating, I taught at Edwards-Knox Central School (not too far from St.Lawrence) and earned my Masters of Science in Education degree (with a focus on mathematics) from SUNY Potsdam in the evenings. In September of 2006, I moved to Rochester and started teaching at BHS and the rest is history.
Everyday, I have the privilege of exploring the world of mathematics as well as life's lessons with my students. I truly believe you can never stop learning.
Outside of my love for math...
I grew up in a small town in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains, Harrisville, NY. My hometown has no stoplights. I loved playing basketball and soccer and was very close with my class of 34 students.
So what I am I up to now? My husband and I live in Webster and have a two year old daughter. I love spending time will my family, rollerblading, running trails in the woods, and taking kettlebell classes.
