Mrs. Mary DuBois

  •  My name is Mrs. DuBois (pronounced doo-BWAH) and I will be one of your fifth grade teachers.
I am looking forward to getting to know each of my students and your families as we have a fantastic year together.  Here are a few things about me.

I grew up living all over the United States moving from Hawaii, to Alabama, to Maryland, to West Virginia and then to Rochester!  My daughter, Alice, and my son, David, are all grown up now, but they were FRES fifth graders just like you.  My husband and I enjoy living in Brighton with our 2 year old puppy, Stella.

When I am not teaching, you can find me either onstage, backstage, or in the audience at local theatrical productions. Last October, I appeared in the ensemble of Pittsford Musicals' production of "Curtains".  The photos below are from some of my favorite productions over the years.

I love to travel! Do you? When I can, I love to discover new places and revisit familiar ones.

Guess what?  I was a fifth grader too, oh so many years ago!  I loved riding my bike around the neighborhood, making neighborhood haunted houses, Girl Scouts, and slumber parties with my friends.  One of my favorite memories of fifth grade was helping write a class newspaper. I still love to read to my class my favorite book from fifth grade, From the Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler, by E. L. Konigsburg.

I am looking forward to getting to know you and having a fantastic year of learning, growing, and fun!
