WELCOME FROM THE BRIGHTON CENTRAL PTSA
Welcome to the 2019-2020 Brighton Central Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA). We encourage all of our members to be involved with the PTSA and to have their voices heard. We have monthly meetings to which all are invited to attend. At these meetings, we present building updates, feature special guest speakers - including our superintendent, Dr. Kevin McGowan - and answer your questions. Meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month (except October) at 2035 Monroe Avenue (Central Administration Building). We offer daytime and evening meetings to accommodate different schedules. Please see the PTSA calendar for specific times.
The Brighton Central PTSA is an affiliate of both the NYSPTA and the National PTA. The PTSA is committed to strengthening the connection between schools and families and advocates for school safety, child health, equity, diversity, and inclusion for all families, among many other issues.
In addition to our advocacy work, we engage in year-round fundraising. We strive to use the majority of our funds to support student programs; last year, the PTSA spent over $29,000 on programs that benefit our students. The beneficiaries of our fundraising include our libraries, scholarship and hardship grants, camperships, family educational programs, and many additional activities.
During the 2018-2019 school year, BCSD families worked over 3,000 volunteer hours for events organized, sponsored, or supported by the Brighton PTSA. We need your help to continue this important work. Please sign up to be a PTSA volunteer.
Thank you for your continued support of the Brighton Central PTSA and our BCSD community.
President, Brighton Central PTSA 2019-2020
