Native American Culture Area Museum Project
Phase 1: Research
Before you can begin creating your museum, you will need to conduct research on your group's assigned culture region. Use the textbook and the resources below to complete your note sheet. Don't forget to use the Related Files section at the bottom of the page! All Culture Regionshttp://www.history.com/topics/native-american-history/native-american-culturesSouthwesthttp://native-american-indian-facts.com/Southwest-American-Indian-Facts/Southwest-American-Indian-Facts.shtmlNorthwest Coasthttp://native-american-indian-facts.com/Northwest-Coast-American-Indian-Facts/Northwest-Coast-American-Indian-Facts.shtmlGreat Plainshttp://native-american-indian-facts.com/Great-Plains-American-Indian-Facts/Great-Plains-American-Indian-Facts.shtmlEastern Woodlandshttp://native-american-indian-facts.com/Northeast-American-Indian-Facts/Northeast-American-Indian-Facts.shtmlSoutheasthttp://native-american-indian-facts.com/Southeast-American-Indian-Facts/Southeast-American-Indian-Facts.shtml
Phase 2: Making the Native American Virtual MuseumYou must select the correct link for your class. Everyone in the class will be able to edit the PowerPoint at the same time when you choose Edit Online. Each group, within each class, is responsible for completing its assigned wing of the museum (for your culture group). The following guidelines are very important and they apply to all classes. You must be very careful when editing slides. All slides are carefully labeled with either the culture area name, the gallery name (food, clothing, shelter, etc.) or the artifact number. Know where you are in the slideshow at all times.Objects on the slides are hyperlinked to other slides so that visitors may navigate the museum in a nonlinear manner. In other words, they don't have to go through the museum in a specific order. They can explore culture area wings, exhibit galleries, and artifact displays in any order they choose.Youtube video to help with museum PowerPoint:
