Registration is ongoing through Community Education.
BHS students can register for classes like Writing Your College Application Essay, PSAT and SAT Exam Preparation, and the NYS Five-Hour Pre-Licensing classes through Brighton Community Education’s website: https://brightonschools.revtrak.net. Each of these classes will be held online.
College Essay: Many members of the Class of 2022 are beginning their college search. The college application process, composing the college essay, in particular, may be overwhelming. This summer enrichment class is designed to help students write their college essay, generate ideas for short answer questions, and provide an overview of addressing the entire college application. Students will read and critique model essays, be provided with written feedback on work, have a one-to-one conference time with the instructor, and complete at least one full essay in five days. BHS English teachers will deliver instruction using Zoom and Schoology. Listen, learn, write, conference, edit, and complete at least one full essay in five days, all before the start of your senior year.
The October College Essay class is for Brighton seniors only.
SAT and SAT Preparation: PSAT/Sat Classes are available to juniors and seniors. Students taking the PSAT exam on October 13th can sign up for any classes that end before October 13th; two out of seven classes held during that time prepare specifically for the PSAT exam and use a PSAT textbook. Seniors taking the SAT exam this fall can register for any class available. The title of the PSAT or SAT textbook students purchase and dates/times for classes can be found at https://brightonschools.revtrak.net.
Any students needing financial assistance should contact Jane Ingle by email or go to the Counseling Office during the school day.
