Students Help the Community on Brighton Believes Day of Caring

All Brighton students participated in a day of service during the Brighton Believes Day of Caring on March 6. The four schools offered age-appropriate service projects and guest speakers that allowed students to demonstrate the Brighton Beliefs and help others.

Festival of Ideas Celebrates 30th Year

Over 600 students in grades 3 through 8 came to Brighton High School to participate in the educational fun day.

Orchestras Combine at Annual District-Wide Strings Concert

Orchestras from French Road Elementary School, Twelve Corners Middle School, and Brighton High School filled up the BHS gym for the annual District-Wide Strings Concert on Feb. 28.

Rotary Seeks 2019 Citizen of the Year Nominations

The person nominated must live or work in Brighton and have made a significant contribution to the welfare, betterment or improvement of the Brighton community in a volunteer capacity or in their field of endeavor either currently or over a period of several years.

TCMS Students Design Zero Waste Posters

Seventh graders at TCMS recently learned about the school’s zero waste program during chemistry class from Impact Earth. Students were challenged to come up with posters that would encourage their classmates to participate in the zero waste program.

TCMS Celebrates World Hijab Day

Student Council sponsored the event with help from teachers Kristen Hallagan, Maria Sanchez-Martinez, and Katie Kantz. About 40 people wore hijab that day and 55 wore buttons to show support.

TCMS and BHS Students Collaborate on Essays

Sixth graders in Ms. Maria Katsetos’ class wrote hero essays about an individual who has stood up against injustice. Juniors in Mrs. Heather Bonadonna’s class looked at the pieces to evaluate the writers’ argument and to edit any mechanical errors.

Niche Ranks Brighton as the Top District in Upstate New York

Niche.com ranked Brighton Central School District as the No. 1 District in both the Rochester area and Upstate New York in its 2019 Best Schools Rankings. Brighton is ranked No. 8 in the state and No. 46 in the country out of 10,758 total districts.
