  • BHS Musicians Selected for Hochstein Youth Symphony Orchestra

    Congratulations to Brighton High School musicians Leah Rosen, Eliana Alweis, Lizzy Bernold, Anna Couch, Hayden Lieb, Henry Berger, and Olivia Rosen on being selected for the 2018-19 Hochstein Youth Symphony Orchestra, the highest-level youth orchestra in The Hochstein School’s five-tier youth orchestra program.

  • Brighton Girls Swimming Repeats as Section V Champion

    Last year, the Brighton girls swimming and diving team captured its first Section V Championship in the program’s history. The Barons made it two straight Class B titles with another outstanding team performance on Friday, Nov. 2.

    The Brighton girls tennis team won a Section V Class A Championship on Monday. The No. 1 seed Barons defeated No. 2 Mercy, 7-0. This is Brighton’s third consecutive Class A Championship.

    In September, all Twelve Corners Middle School sixth graders participated in the two-day Outdoor Education program at the Rotary Sunshine Camp in Rush. This was the 48th year of Outdoor Education (ODE)!

    Brighton High School is one of 349 schools across the country to receive a National Blue Ribbon School Award for 2018 from the U.S. Department of Education. This is one of the highest honors any school can receive.

  • Great Turnout at the Brighton Believes eRACE Hunger 5K

    Over 200 runners and walkers took part in the Brighton Believes eRACE Hunger 5K Family Fun Run/Walk on Sept. 16 in Meridian Centre Park. The race was a success, raising money to benefit the hungry and vulnerable children, individuals, and families who are served by the Brighton Food Cupboard.

  • BHS AP Physics Students Use Tennis Ball Launcher for Lab

    Students shot balls straight into the air and then used this data to calculate how far away the ball would land if they put the launcher at an angle. The students formed a circle around where they expected the balls to land and showed that their calculations were correct!

  • BHS Students Learn from Crazy Dog T-Shirts

    Students in Brighton High School’s Understanding Design class learned about graphic design and T-shirt printing from Crazy Dog T-Shirts on Sept. 12. CEO Bill Kingston, a 2001 BHS graduate, founded Crazy Dog T-Shirts in 2004. The company specializes in custom and novelty T-shirts.

  • Phoenix Art Club Paints Mural in BHS Skills Lab

    Brighton High School’s Phoenix Art Club finished painting a mural in the Skills Lab on June 6. Throughout the school year, students worked on the painting in small groups, reflecting, and adding to what was already painted. The Skills Lab teachers love their new mural!

  • BHS Student Recognized as Outstanding Senior

    Brighton High School’s Catherine Callahan was recognized as an Outstanding Senior at the annual Monroe County Council of School Superintendents’ Outstanding Senior Recognition Dinner in May. A senior student is selected from each school district in Monroe County to receive this honor based upon their scholarship, leadership, service, and character.
