Judge Ninfo Teaches Students About Financial Wellness
Retired Federal Bankruptcy Judge John Ninfo spoke to Mike Blake’s Personal Finance students at Brighton High School about the importance of financial wellness on Jan. 7.
Among the Judge’s Top 10 lessons to students were: not using credit cards to buy things you can’t afford, the danger of taking on too much debt, and the importance of saving money.
Judge Ninfo founded the National Credit Abuse Resistance Education (CARE) Program. He has shared his knowledge about finances with students for 21 years. The Brighton resident has received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges, the ESL Jefferson Award, and the first ever WXXI Be More Informed Award.
