FRES Students Take Part in the Kids Heart Challenge

More than 800 French Road Elementary School students took part in the Kids Heart Challenge in February. This is the first year that the name of the program changed from Jump Rope For Heart. The fundraising program is still sponsored by the American Heart Association and teaches children the importance of being active and how their heart works.

The events took place during physical education class so that all FRES students could participate. Physical education teachers Krystal Forsyth, Rick LaPaglia, and Mark Salerno led students through jumping rope, rock climbing, bowling, cup stacking, golfing, basketball, and more.

French Road has raised more money through Jump Rope for Heart than any school in the country each year since 1999.
