TCMS Students Learn About Careers

Twelve Corners Middle School hosted its first Career Day for eighth graders in May. Over 20 speakers talked about their careers with students. The speakers represented the U.S. Department of Labor’s 16 career clusters. Students were able to hear from four different speakers during the afternoon.

The speakers were:

  • Mike Baker, a beef cattle specialist for Cornell University
  • Sulyn Bennett-Hennessey, a visual communication and photography teacher at the Eastern Monroe Career Center
  • Michele Conners, a food broker for Food Source Solutions
  • Deborah Conquest, a voice instructor at Nazareth College and the Hochstein Music School
  • Charlie Cote, a clinical social worker
  • Paul Gangarossa, a public relations manager at Dixon Schwabl
  • Melissa Griffo, a yoga teacher, wellness coach, and owner of Revolution Studio and Wellness
  • Dan Grillo, an information technology and system engineer at Paychex and TEK Systems
  • Aaron Hilger, President and CEO of ROC Builder Exchange
  • Ava Labuzetta, an environmental engineer at the NYS Pollution Prevention Institute
  • Lindsey LaPlant, assistant professor in psychology at Nazareth College
  • Megan LeMoyne, sales manager at Powerhouse Technologies
  • Jeremias Maneiro, an associate realtor at REMAX Realty
  • Breland Moore, a sports reporter at News 10 NBC
  • Conner Rand, a culinary arts teacher at the Eastern Monroe Career Center
  • Hayley Richbart, a music therapist at Spectrum Creative Arts
  • Tim Roth, a sergeant with the Greece Police Department
  • Evan Schutt, a farmer and owner of Schutt’s Apple Farm
  • Steve Stanley and Dave Swilley from the Eastern Monroe Career Center’s construction and electricity trades programs
  • Nick Vamivakas, associate professor of Quantum optics and quantum physics at the University of Rochester’ Institute of Optics
  • Edward Fiandach, an attorney at Fiandach and Fiandach
  • Rachel Waugh, a physical therapist with Nazareth College
