BHS Earns AP Computer Science Female Diversity Award

Brighton High School earned the College Board’s AP Computer Science Female Diversity Award for achieving high female representation in the AP Computer Science Principles course in 2019. The award recognizes schools for closing the gender gap in computer science courses.

BHS is one of only 818 institutions to receive this distinction out of the 20,000 institutions that offer AP courses and one of 639 schools to receive this recognition for the AP Computer Science Principles course.

Schools that received this award have achieved either 50% or higher female representation in either or both of the AP computer science courses, or the percentage of female computer science examinees meets or exceeds that of the school's female population.
