Rocco Jones Named Outstanding Senior

Brighton High School student Rocco Jones was selected as the school’s Outstanding Senior. He was recognized at the Monroe County Council of School Superintendents’ (MCCOSS) Michael C. O’Laughlin Outstanding Senior Recognition Dinner at East High School on May 17.

The Outstanding Senior Recognition Dinner is the only program which recognizes excellence in all our county and city high schools at one event. Students are selected for this honor based on their scholarship, leadership, service, and character. The honorees were presented a gift by Monroe One BOCES District Superintendent Dan White and Brighton Superintendent Dr. Kevin McGowan.

Rocco is a member of Student Council, Friends of Rachel, Best Buddies, and Natural Helpers at BHS. He also volunteers at the Verona Street Animal Society, Make-a-Wish Foundation, and St. Peter's Soup Kitchen. Rocco will be attending the University of Delaware next year.

Congratulations to Rocco and all of our seniors!
