Dr. Rioux to Receive GVASCD Curriculum Award

Dr. Rioux

Each year, the Genesee Valley Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development honors outstanding leaders in the educational community. Brighton Central School District Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Dr. Allison Rioux was selected to receive the 2024 Curriculum Award.

“Dr. Allison Rioux is a leader among leaders,” Superintendent Dr. Kevin McGowan said. “The GVASCD award only confirms widely what we have long known. Allison is as exceptional a leader as she is a person. Her astounding intellect is only matched by her kindness, compassion, commitment to excellence, and drive to ensure that all students are provided with a challenging and engaging learning experience each day. We could not be more proud of her work to support all staff members and each member of the school community, most of all students, in growing as thinkers, leaders, and people. Allison is an integral member of an outstanding team and does a masterful job day in and day out in leading everyone together in the area of curriculum and instruction. We are so grateful for her work and that GVASCD has chosen to recognize her with this prestigious award.”

She will receive the award at a ceremony in May.
