BHS Theatre Program Recognized at Stars of Tomorrow

Brighton High School was recognized for excellence in its winter production of “The SpongeBob Musical” at the Rochester Broadway Theatre League’s Stars of Tomorrow Recognition Ceremony on May 10.

BHS was recognized as a top 10 large school for:

  • Excellence in Overall Production "Sagan" Award
  • Excellence in Dance Ensemble
  • Excellence in Acting Ensemble
  • Excellence in Production Crew
  • Excellence in Production Design
  • Excellence in Student Orchestra (50-75% student performers)
  • Achievement in Performance in a Leading Role — Callan Comeau (SpongeBob SquarePants)
  • Achievement in Performance in a Leading Role — Renata Corrado-Green (Patrick Star)
  • Achievement in Performance in a Leading Role — Hope Galloway (Sandy Cheeks)
  • Achievement in Performance in a Leading Role — Henry Ager (Squidward Q. Tentacles)
  • Achievement in Performance in a Leading Role — Casey Howe (Sheldon J. Plankton)
  • Achievement in Performance in a Leading Role — Aubrey Wilbanks (Patchy the Pirate )

Galloway was also selected as one of the top 41 performers moving onto the NYC Bound  competition for the chance to represent Rochester at the National High School Musical Theatre (Jimmy) Awards. Galloway was one of two students who advanced to New York City last year. The RBTL "Tip of the Hat" recognizes an outstanding performance and special recognition in a non-adjudicated role from the Stars of Tomorrow adjudicators. Two Brighton actors were recognized for their performances:

  • Aurora Cabral (Karen the Computer)
  • PJ Finn (Larry the Lobster)
