Please note that we will not have in-person school for all students K-12 on Friday, Jan. 28. All students will be provided with an independent learning day and specific instructional activities by their teacher(s). These “asynchronous” (not live Zoom) lessons are being prepared now and will look different at every level. Expect more detail and instructions no later than the beginning of that week. This change is only for Jan. 28.
We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause. We’re hoping that three weeks of notice is helpful while recognizing that no amount of time can solve child care and other dilemmas posed by a change. To that end, just like snow (now remote) days, we never take the decision to make changes lightly. We’ve decided to create this day in order to allow for the staff to revisit their plans based on their experiences since the start of the year and most recently, the significant absences due to COVID. We simply need the time and space to reevaluate, reassess, and make course corrections based on the needs of your children, some of which has changed even over the past week and will continue to change before the 28th. Time like this is always well spent by our staff and results in even better planning for their work with your students. Thank you for understanding.
