Rennes Exchange: Host Families Still Needed, Travel Informational Meeting on April 17

Forty-eight students from Lycée Sévigné in Rennes, France will be in Brighton from Oct. 13-22, 2024. We have placed 20 students already, but still need 28 more amazing BHS host families! Host families are responsible for food and a donation of approximately $100 to help fund transportation and admission tickets during their stay. The French student will need their own bed, not necessarily their own room.

Our French exchange students will take field trips to the RMSC, University of Rochester, Niagara Falls, and Rochester City Hall, among other trips. Due to the large number of French students, BHS students will not be able to accompany them. The French student will also shadow their BHS student in classes for 2-3 school days.  There are no activities planned at night or on the weekend, so you are free to make plans for them during this time. There will be a mandatory host family meeting in September/October prior to their arrival.

This exchange is open to BHS students who will be enrolled in a French, physics, or chemistry class in the 2024-25 school year. There is a science component because the French students are enrolled in a special program (DNL) where they take one hour of science in English per week at their school. Ideally, if you host, you will then travel with us to France in February 2025, however, this is not mandatory.   Our informational night for the travel portion of the exchange will be Wednesday, April 17th at 6:30 p.m., at which time the travel application will be available.

Thank you for considering taking part in this wonderful experience!  If you are interested in hosting, please fill out this form and return to Mme Beh in room 304. If you have any questions, please contact for more information.
