Important Leadership Team Updates for the 2024-25 School Year

Dear Families,

We’re very excited to announce some strategic changes in leadership roles for the 2024-25 school year. As of July 1, TCMS Assistant Principal Betsy Paddock will begin overseeing Aspire programming for both the new seventh and eighth grade program being supported in the proposed budget and the long standing, successful Brighton High School program (formerly the AIM program). Mrs. Paddock will likely work with additional support programs and services as well, but her primary focus will be on providing necessary support for both programs. We believe that this dedicated resource in grades 7-12 will create a consistent approach building on the success of the 9-12 program while recognizing the unique needs of middle school students. Mrs. Paddock’s own expertise and experience, especially as it relates to mental health and social emotional learning, will be a tremendous asset for this work. She joined the District in 2014 after serving as a counselor in Pittsford schools. Mrs. Paddock has been an assistant principal at both TCMS and BHS.

Alongside this change comes a shift for BHS Assistant Principal Ashley Edwards. Ms. Edwards will assume the role of Twelve Corners Middle School Assistant Principal. She has been an outstanding leader at BHS and a key member of the team. In fact, her success led to this opportunity to contribute to the excellent work being done at TCMS. Ms. Edwards’ leadership experience, expertise as an educator focused on supporting each student and their needs, and her work as a deep-thinking instructional leader will be beneficial to TCMS students, staff, and families alike. She joined the District in 2021 after serving as a social studies teacher and assistant principal in Fairport.

Finally, this creates a vacancy on the BHS team. We’ll begin a search immediately in the hopes that the next excellent BHS Assistant Principal will join the team beginning July 1.

Thank you to Ashley and Betsy for their continued dedication to the students, families and staff of the District and for their eagerness to lend their experience and expertise to these roles.

Kevin
