    • Teach students to respect the intellectual property of others.
    • Teach students to value the rights associated with their own creations.
    • Teach students about copyright laws.
    • Reinforce the importance of attributing content as necessary.

    Copyright is a form of protection given to the authors or creators of "original works of authorship," including literary, dramatic, musical, artistic and other intellectual works.

    • Brighton's approach to Cyberbullying:

      • Bullying and cyberbullying are prohibited by law.
      • Students should report any sort of harassment, whether online or not, to a trusted adult. They will not be punished for reporting an incident.
      • Students, staff, and close adult family members may reach out to the Dignity Act Coordinator in the school building and/or may complete a Dignity Act Complaint Form and submit to the building principal.

      • Report incidents of cyberbullying.
      • Be mindful of the information shared on social media.
      • Refrain from sharing passwords with anyone.

      • If creating accounts outside of BCSD, use separate, strong passwords. Stong passwords are a combination of six letters, numbers and symbols.
