Eighth Graders Explore Resilience Through Art at the Memorial Art Gallery

As part of their Overcoming Barriers unit, Twelve Corners Middle School eighth graders read “Okay For Now,” a book about a character who finds art as a catharsis for the personal challenges he faces. Students had the opportunity to visit the Memorial Art Gallery in November and closely “read” art in a similar way. Students then wrote a poem about resilience based on the work of art they selected.
