Twelve Corners Middle School’s magazine “The Growl” received an Excellent designation from the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) in its Recognizing Excellence in Art and Literary Magazines (REALM) Program.
 
In 2025, schools in 44 states, Washington, D.C., and six countries nominated 456 student magazines. Students in the TCMS Writing Club launched the magazine in 2025. It includes student fiction writing, artwork, photography, and poetry. The club is advised by Lara Liu.
