Important School Budget Information Sessions

Posted Date: 03/30/26 (02:00 PM)

The Purpose: An informational session for our community.

We invite you to join us for an upcoming School Budget Information Session, where District leadership will provide a clear overview of the proposed budget, the financial challenges we are navigating, and the decisions shaping our plan for the year ahead. These sessions will take place on April 8 and 15 at both 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. All sessions will be held in the Administration Building Board Room, 2035 Monroe Ave.

The Issue: The District is facing a significant gap between anticipated revenue and anticipated expenses.

Health insurance rates have skyrocketed as have the cost of utilities and other expenses.

We are proposing a series of “Level 1” reductions to programs and services. Most of these will be done through attrition and some program modifications. We are also proposing a tax increase of 3.98%. Although this is over the tax cap, we’ve focused on keeping it as low as possible without making drastic cuts to programs.

Staying under the property tax cap would result in drastic cuts to programs and services including extended studies, instrumental music at fourth grade, sixth grade world language, clubs, activities, athletics, and the arts. These are being called “Level 2” reductions.

Please come and learn more about the challenges and proposed solutions. This session is designed to share information, increase understanding, and answer questions from our community. All budget information is available on our website.
