TCMS Students Learn Lessons on Mobile Museum of Tolerance

Posted Date: 03/02/26 (07:00 AM)

All Twelve Corners Middle School seventh and eighth graders received the opportunity to climb aboard the Mobile Museum of Tolerance in February. Unlike a traditional museum where visitors walk around and view various exhibits, the Mobile Museum of Tolerance contains seating for up to 30 visitors who experience a series of immersive, interactive educational modules on a range of subjects.

There were two separate lessons that the Museum provided, combating hate and civil rights.

The civil rights workshop centered around lessons from the non-violent Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s. Students talked about key figures of the Civil Rights Movement, the impact of discrimination and segregation, modern civil rights challenges, and ways to promote equality in their own community.

Combating hate taught students how to analyze online media using critical thinking skills and understand the impact of online hate and misinformation. They also discussed how to report hate and responsibly use social media.
