BHS Math Team Shines in Another Strong Season
The Brighton High School Math Team wrapped up an impressive season, marked by strong participation and standout performances. This year, more than 100 students competed in at least one meet, with 10 to 11 teams regularly participating in monthly competitions. This is an incredible commitment from students who voluntarily stay after school to challenge themselves in math.
Brighton finished third in its division. Noah Biedenkopf finished as the top junior in the county and was named the team MVP. Additionally, 14 Brighton students ranked among the top 70 in Monroe County.
At the All-Star County Meet held on March 19, Brighton placed second in Division I with Sam Luger leading the team as the top scorer for the day.
Eight Brighton students qualified for the New York State Math League Meet on April 18.
The team also celebrated Pi Day with a Brighton-only competition, awards ceremony, and of course, ate some pie.
Thank you to Ms. AnnMarie Swilley for advising the Math Team!
