Brighton Named a Best Community for Music Education
For the 16th straight year, Brighton Central School District was honored with the Best Communities for Music Education Award from The NAMM Foundation for its outstanding support and commitment to music education. Now in its 27th year, the program continues to spotlight and celebrate school districts and individual schools across the United States for their exemplary dedication to music education and their ongoing efforts to ensure equitable access to music learning as part of a well-rounded education.
Our music program serves every student and our ensembles reach over 1,800 students in grades 4-12, with choirs, bands, orchestras, jazz ensembles, and chamber groups. Students continue to be recognized at the county, state, and national levels.
To qualify for the Best Communities designation, the District answered detailed questions about funding, instructional time, participation rates, facilities, and community support. Responses were verified by WolfBrown, a leading research and evaluation firm specializing in education and the arts.
Congratulations to our students, staff, and families!
